I was installing a remote start on my wifes car today, a 2001 nissan sentra se, and when wiring up the starter wires, i accidently shorted directly from the constant power wire in the ignition harness to ground. No the car will not start. I've checked every wire in the fuse box to no avail. Some of the features of the car work, they seem to be the ones that don't rely on having the key in the ignition. The horn, headlights, hazards, and trunk light still work. however the keyless entry is dead, so is the radio, power door locks, gauges. The dome light and door trigger seem to work fine. I desperately need help here. any thing that you could offer would be helpful.

thanks

-Duncan

Look under the hood for the main fuse panel. Test all the fuses under the hood with a light tester or DMM. Don't use your eyes only for these tests as some fuses do not blow all the way and only a DMM or test light will tell you if the fuse is broken or not.

I have done that, and all the fuses seem to be working fine.  i investigated a little further and found the power door locks work with the key in the door, just not with the remote.  does anyone know where the fire is fused.  i found a wire that is the same color as the constant power wire in the engine compartment, and that tests 12 volts, coming out of the main fuse block.  is it possible that a relay is blown.  anyone experienced anything like this before.
