I have a 1995 Lexus ES300 with an Automate AM7 remote start/alarm installed.   When I would arm or disarm the system, the parking lights would flash and also if it were remote started the lights would flash.

Last weekend I had to replace my dash cluster cause of burned out led needles, and while I was at it, I replaced all the backlighting of the cluster with LED bulbs, which looks great. But since then, the parking lights do not flash at all any more. I don't know if switching to LED cluster bulbs had anything to do with it, and none of the alarm wires were disturbed.   Can anyone offer a fix?   OR if the bulb changeover to LED's did something, is there a work around?

Thank you.

Most alarms have a fused parking light feed - I would check that first.

Locate the alarm brain and see if there is a 10A fuse (or around 10A) in one of the wires.  If you know what color the wire is that will make it even easier.

If the fuse is OK check the voltage on the wire when you arm and disarm to make sure it is still outputing a 12vdc signal when the alarm is controlling the parking lights.

KP is right, the first thing to check is the alarm fuse for the lights. At the alarm brain there will be a white wire with an inline fuse holder....

Ok, I found what the issue is and hopefully someone can give me a great fix for this situation.

On the 1995 Lexus ES300, if you leave your headlights on,   they turn off as soon as you open your driver door.   So most of the time, it's left on.   When this happens, the flashing lights do not work,   as if the body control shuts down the whole circuit?   But if she makes sure she turns of the headlights,   then flashing parking lights work fine.

Then this brings another issue.   If the headlights are left on, you open car door, and they go off.   Seems ok, right? Well say she remote starts the vehicle now.   The car starts, headlights on again cause car is running.   IF she shuts the car down via remote, or it times out,    the headlights will never shut off cause the driver door was not opened.

Any solution to any or both of these situations? Thanks so much!

To fix the parking lights don't work when the headlights are left on problem you may need to add a second relay and provide both a + and a - to the parking lights.  I've never done one of these, but I know most "RAP" systems switch the (-) while the OEM switch switches the (+).  If that is the case then you'll need to switch both the + and the -.

To fix the headlight staying on after remote start shut down issue you need to wire the OEM rearm wire to the door trigger.  This way, each time the remote start shuts down it will send a pulse to the door trigger and tell the car that the door was opened.
