stalling a relay to open my sunroof from my negative pulse alarm. the sunroof wire rest at 12 normally and when press it drops to 0. is this right 87a - to switch, 30 to motor side, 87 to 12 volt, 86 to 12 volt, 85 from the alarm (-) Relay is clicking but no dice....

You've wired it correctly assuming both motor wires rest on ground. Check the switch more thoroughly. With some Japanese such as Toyota and Honda, if the motor is powered, just ground one of the switch contacts , no relay to achieve this.

Open is Green, close is red, and "tilt" is white. All are located at the switch and are (POS)+ No info on latched or pulsed trigger so be careful. The switch might NOT be load limited. -------------

The wire that i tested and assumed was the open was the blue wire. Thanks for info. so what i have as 87 should be ground or 12+ . (sorry novice with this relay stuff).

Most sunroofs won't open if the ignition isn't on.

Stop with the bloody relays and listen... this switch might be just a trigger therefore try attatching power to the red VIA a TEST LIGHT* When the roof is open and the igition turned off. If the roof doesn't close from either tilt or slide there's a relay somewhere which needs to be powered permanently or you will need to go to the actual motor wires, find the close side and wire it as your original post using a relay. * That way you wont damage anything. Just use a DMM to ensure the red wire is not sitting on a hard ground. If you know how to use a test light properly, see how bright the bulb glows when you place the other end of the test light to 12v+ N.B. If the blue is a motor wire not a trigger, then it WILL sit on ground and go pos on closing. Cut and apply 12v+ to the non-switch side. There I think I've exhausted all the tests.
