2000 jeep grand cherokee

Just finished installing an ungo RS in a 2000 GC with a 455J and a 555C. I have the blue black wire of the 455 hooked up to my negative remote start output but I am still not getting the OEM alarm bypassed. I have even tried the second negative output and nothing. I am stumped. If I press the unlock button while remote starting it works fine. Some thnings to note. I dont hook up the starter kill wire of the ungo. I just hook up the purple starter wire and leave the green unhooked. this shouldn't be a problem, right? I also just ground the nuetral safety switch. It seems I dont have the 455 hooked up right but I sure cant see how. Thanks for the help.

Is that negative output from the Ungo turning on before it turns on the car's ignition, or are they all turning on at the exact same time?

Put your test light or meter or whatever on that blue/black wire going into the 455J, and check the timing of the Ungo's output.

Probably, the 455J needs to see a ground before remote start.

What kind of Ungo is this, older or newer? I think the newer ones are just rebadged DEI product, but the older ones, I'm not sure.

If it's a DEI unit, I think you have two negative ignition outputs........a blue and a blue/black. Try switching to the other output and see if that fixes it.

If that doesn't work, does the Ungo have a "factory alarm disarm" or "pulse before starting" output?

If you do, use that wire, and jump it onto the 455J's blue/black. (Leave the existing negative ignition out from the remote starter, don't disconnect it, just add your factory disarm too.)

That way, as soon as you activate the remote start, your factory disarm output will ground the 455J, and the alarm should shut off in time.

thanks, i did try the other blue negative out. No luck. It is a new ungo and I have a bit writer. If I hook the factor alarm disarm to the blue black do I need to wire up a relay? Thanks again

Shouldn't need a relay, no. And did you test the wire to make sure the output from the remote starter is functioning properly?

And doesn't the 455J have a couple of different inputs, if I remember right?

I think there's a "factory disarm' input and a "ground while running from remote starter" input, right?

I think you just want to have the ground when running from the RS, connected to the ground when running on the 455J. Not 100% sure, but I think that's the way.
