Is it mandatory to connect the power locks to the remote starter unit in all vehicles. I did the remote starter for a 06 Caravan and didn't bother connecting the locks because I wouldn't use that feature anyways.

A buddy told me that if the power locks aren't connected to the remote starter then you can lead to serious issues and the unit can explode. Is this true? A couple of my buddies got their starters professionally installed and the locks cost an extra hour in labor so they just omitted it and the car works perfectly fine.

yes, locks are not necessary for a properly functioning remote start.  We sell our basic entry level remote start installed without keyless entry.

from my understanding is that what will happen is everything will begin to work backwards

if you press the gas pedal you brakes will come on

or even worse putting your car in drive will make your car go backwards

seriously tell your buddy to lay off the crack pipe and save the few brain cells he has left over
