ok guys i have another problem, i installed a viper 350hv  on a ford mondeo today, a rare car in these parts, lol. any way got everything working, except the locks, there were two wires in the driver door that read like the lock/unlock hooked alarm wires, nothing, i tried two relays to drive the the actuator and the other doors would lock, but not reopen when the driver's door did. the customer will be back soon to have it rectified, so any insight would be appreciated. thanks again.

TT, let me know what year is the Mondeo, pre-2000, a 350 wouldn't have the power to work the triggers, 1 amp draw required. Post 2000, last old model shape, control box above drivers throttle pedal (GEM box) if Right hand drive, same position above passenger right foot if left hand drive. BLACK/ orange lock and black /green to unlock thin wires possibly on adjacent plugs at 1 end, low current neg, use diodes in line to condtion i.e. 1N4004 with bars towards alarm, there helping you colonists out again!!! N.B. I provided DEI (UK) with the info on this one, NEVER try a window /roof close.

As a P.S. if it is a post 2000 you will need to run separate leads from each door contact, they should also be at the GEM box and trunk , a pin switch for the hood (cross-brace next to suspension tower) and all the doors and trunk need to be diode blocked away from the GEM box, because it goes to sleep, also dioded together, see DEI diagramme 1076, it should beon this site somewhere, it's quite famous. You can't use the dome light because it stays on for about 1 minute after locking the doors via the alarm and will trigger the alarm.

well  didn't check wat year it was, but i accesed all door triggers at the dome so i'm guessing it's pre 2000, what do i do to make the locks work, as regards to the 1 amp draw and all. thanks for the info, by the way i was beggining to second guess myself.

2nd guessing?  Got the book and the T shirt at home but that's why you're an installer not a DIY moron.

Directechs says pre-2000, I had to look this up since it's years since I've done a pre-2000 any way lock is WHITE/ blue or WHITE/ black and unlock is YELLOW /GREEN or yellow violet, NOTE   POS not neg and you will need to boost the current from the alarm via relays 'cause these triggers draw about 2 amps. I'm assuming this is a UK spec right hand drive, don't call me back today 'cause it's 01:40 here I've just watched Denzel Washington in the brilliant American Gangster and I'm going to bed! Goodnight.
