Howdy all,
I'm waiting for a response from Viper (directed) for advice on the 5701 (partial so far) install in my 06 Accord EX-L 4 door 4 cylinder AT. I'm up to about $900.oo because of the "comfort closure" can't be done without rewiring all 4 doors and adding a module. It seems to me that since the key can raise or lower the windows that an interface has to be possible and not complicated. Also the factory remote can lower them all on the third unlock pulse.
My next install date is 10/9 and I sent them an invitation to come and observe way last week, but, no response so far. Since this is the installers first Accord to get the 5701 there is much to learn. I learned that Directed doesn't provide a bitwriter to their agents so they are borrowing one (again) from a friend.
This second date will also involve the sunroof controls (via a 529T) which can open and close via the remote. The Viper has so many possibilities, I would think their marketing people would be quite interested. It would seem not to be the case.
Am I asking too much for almost spending a grand?
Here's hoping one of you greatly experienced types have some input.

It's quite a set up, and all connections are made IN THE DOOR.

Six diodes, a relay, and 4 outputs, 2 of wich are time latched.

I LOVE Astroflex.....

Umm...first I would have to say that I am really not sure what you are talking about....All of the DEI dealers(I am one of them) should have a bitwriter although almost all if not all the features can be programmed through the valet switch.

1- Comfort closure can be programmed throught the alarm.  All you have to do is tag the lock wire and the factory arm wire in the car with your green lock wire from the alarm.  The alarm will send a 30sec pulse to those wires and this will make te window roll up when you arm the vehicle.

2- To make the windows roll down you would have to unlock the door and use a channel on the alarm to pulse the factory disarm wire.

BTW it may be your installer's first 5701 on an accord but DEI is huge and has this alarm installed in many 06 accords.  Don't know why your install would be that special for them to look at it.  You got me confused on that one.

Also...$1000 may not be much when it comes to that type of install.  Here that would be a typical $900 job but again...you got me lost with the whole invitation thing....either way..Good Luck

E. thank you for answering this one, the person who posted this should have done a search but I remember you answering this one some time ago. If he wants to impress DEI let him take the Accord there, they will rip it apart and tell him what he's done wrong etc.

Just thought, I'm an independant but I own a Bitwriter and 2 versions of Wiz. Why would a dealer not have one, I suspect it's not being done by a dealer, because it's being done in stages. Without going into the doors that should take about 1 day for one (experienced person) based on my times with a UK Cat 1 equivalent which incorporates 2 x immob circuits and must be securely mounted and concealed.
