I have just installed the XR9000 as a replacement to a DEI 800 that failed on me several years ago.  I connected the power wires and the ground, but not the ignition wires yet.  I am having a problem before I even turn the ignition on.  I have a relay hooked to the Channel 3 Dark Blue wire.

Now for the problem:  If i press the remote buttons to unlock the car and then use the trunk release button the remote seems to hang for a few mintues.  It just will not communicate.  A few minutes later, it will work again.

Is there a timeout feature on the remote?  Is this an issue with the door/trunk switch, as I do nto have this hooked up at the moment, but it does not seem to have an impact when I ground the brown wire or + the purple wire.

Please give me feedback if anyone knows what is wrong.

Car is a streetrod, so it has a custom electircal system.

Thanks,

joe

Also, I am having intermitent use of the second remote.  I was able to de-arm the system once with this, but for some reason it is not happy at all.

WhenI try to use this remote, the other remote stops working too.

It would appear that the issue was because I did not have all the accessories plugged in.  Once I plugged in the shock sensor, LED push button, and door lock harness I disconnected and reconnected the power.  This appears to have fixed the problem.
