And a couple of questions regarding install. All this time I've been fumbling my way through 571vx install manual thinking it was 791vx.. when a common sense should have told me, there's no antena input, no shock sensor input, etc.. that it was not the correct manual. But alas. I have found a page of Quick wiring reference guide. Any help regarding the manul would be much apprciated. Thanks in advance. ------------- DIY guy, can't learn if you never try

I'm confused on these 4 wires. I understand the Power lock/unlocks are for the doors. but what's the Lock/Unlock Motor? thank you so much.. cleared up much of the confusion is these connections required? relay key switch interface RED / WHITE (+) 12V input Connection for high current outputs. H1/1 ORANGE (-) ground-when-armed output This wire supplies a (-)500 mA ground as long as the system is armed. This output ceases as soon as the system is disarmed. The orange wire may be wired to an optional Directed Electronics 8618 starter kill relay.

these are the wires that go directly to the motor in the driver side door. in nearly all cases these are not used. the info is provided though, for installs that will have driver door priority but do not have a wire or double pulse feature in the vehicle to actvate that feaure.

I testing the install of alarm viper 5900 on my 2008 element. after locking myself in the car and arming the alarm I can still use the key to start the engine. Is this normal? If I dont' want this to happen do I need to add additional relay? Install manual says I can add a starter kill relay DEI 8618. is this what I have to do in order to prevent the above? ------------- DIY guy, can't learn if you never try

If you didn't install a starter kill relay then your alarm won't have starter kill.

So I just have to add high amperage relay to the the line that goes from alarm module to Starter motor right? and connect the orage status output wire as the activitaion for the relay? ------------- DIY guy, can't learn if you never try

once the xcrs is hooked up as it should be, the starter kill will function, on the xcrs there's a a green and purple wire, cut the starter wire in car, and hook green to the side coming from the key switch, and purple to the side going to the engine. once armed u won't be able to start with the keys but u will be able to remote start. the additional relay and the orange wire won;t be necessary. hope it helps. ------------- installin's easy. its da customers who make it hard.

with the XRCS installed properly, the alarm will also sound if your ignition turns on.

Alarm does sound but car still starts. tall technician, what you're talking about si the relay satellite wire connections? Yes I did cut the starter wire and connect the purple towards the starter and green to the starter input (key side) Quoting the instrall manual, it says ""GREEN STARTER INPUT" for anti grind or starter kill attach this wire to the key side of the starter wire for antigrind and for the starter kill to be active." ------------- DIY guy, can't learn if you never try

also when I use the remote start feature ( I do not have immobilizer bypass working yet) engine does crank, so i'm going to assume that I did use the correct wire, ( I also tested the wire using DMM to check for voltage whlie cranking with key.)

check to make sure u've got the ignition and accessory wires hooked up right and not in reverse. if the pink is hooked to an accesory circuit, the alarm will sound, but the car will still crank. ------------- installin's easy. its da customers who make it hard.

I'm having trouble bypassing the immobilizer on my install on the 08 Honda element. I have Viper 5900. I have tried both the PKH34 from bypass kit using install method "A", as well as DEI 556U unit using the antena ring meathod. using either one, I cannot get the car to start. It cranks. but does not start. some tests I've done. With key in the ignition at off position, remote start cranks but no start, with key in the ignition at ON position, restart start works Am I missing a wire connection to the factory immobilizer, to get it to activate? could not having connected the 2nd accessory wire cause this issue? Thanks In advance. ------------- DIY guy, can't learn if you never try

you have missed a wire that needs to be powered. if it was an immobilizer issue it would start with the key in the ignition in the off position. with the key in the lock cylinder and turned to "ignition", it sounds like you are powering another circuit that you were not powering before.

I see no other connection being necesary. One last thing I have to check, i realized, i need to check if i have connected the pink wire to the correct ignition wire on the car. ------------- DIY guy, can't learn if you never try

Since it does work fine with the ignition key on:
You've either got:
A: main ignition wire not powered at all.
B: Ignition and accessory reversed, and your ignition is dropping out during crank.
C: You've got the right ignition wire, but a poor connection, defective remote starter, et cetera.
Try this:
1. Turn on radio at a moderate volume, turn heater fan on at medium speed. Turn key back off.
2. Hit the remote start, and observe the radio, the heater, and all those warning lights that come on on the dashboard.
3. Radio and heat should drop out during the time the remote starter is cranking, but all those dash warning lights should stay on.
P.S. If you didn't power up the second-accessory wire (the one that does the radio), that's OK too. I usually leave that unpowered, so the radio remains off during remote start.

Thanks!. I'll try that tonight. I'm thinking that it has to be the ignition is dropping out. Like you said I either have the ignition output from the alarm in 2nd accessories wire, or it's reversed. I think from my memmory though that radio and fan drops out. So i think i have the ignition connected to the 2nd accessory wire. ------------- DIY guy, can't learn if you never try
