I'm going to be doing a 2-way alram, remote start on a friends 2008 F-150 very soon and I have some questions. I've been reading through some old posts, and I thing I have most of the info I need.

The system is a Carvox, not sure of the model number at the moment. The truck is a barebones, base model v6. No power anything, not even a tape player (doing a full system also though).

The main thing I'm iffy on is the immobilizer. I've done 6 or 7 remote start systems, but I've never had to do a rs on a vehicle with one yet. Not sure what bypass to get; 555F or 555S or some other bypass?

I may have some other questions once I go through the install manual for the Carvox, but the immobilizer was the main issue. Thanks.

555F is a little older and probably wont work on your system. use the 555S or even the 555U and you'll be fine.posted_image

what i mean is, its "older" in that it doesnt work on the newer models of fords.

What about the XK04? I found some pretty cheap on ebay, or do those only work with DEI units? Thanks for the info.

those work just as good as well. they have a few more wires to hook up, but it pretty straight forward. i actually like anything thats made by DEI because of its reliability

XK04 or 556S will work fine.....    555F is 1st Gen PATS and wont work  555S in disco'd and replaced with 556S
