Hi Guys,

I have a Jeep GC Laredo,2001 model which I bought off a dealer from the Manheim Auction site two year ago.I have moved back to my Caribbean and brought the car with me.Lately, after a 3 months sit out in my Garage(I was out of town),engine would not run for longer than 2 secs. The sentry Key light is on the dash board all the time.

It seems that the only key I was given is corrupt and the car no longer recorgnizes it.I am only learning about this Sentry system and did not know it was installed.Jeep says I have to bring in the vehicle to be reprogramed, which is impossible seening where I am now and the local dealers here don't have the DRB III scan tool!

Can anyone help with a solution to disable this darn thing so I can use my Jeep again which I paid good money for. Please email me from my profile details for confidentaility as there are no solutions for me as of now!.

Thanks.

unfortunately the only way I know of getting the immobilizer to work properly is to use the factory programmed keys.  When installing on Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler products, if the keys get kicked out of the system, we have to send them to the dealership to program them via the OBD scan tool.  Hopefully someone has better info.

quick question, did the key work before(if it did there is a solution), and did the jeep loose battery power in the time it sat in the garage while you were out of town?

Yes the vehicle worked perfectly with the sole key I have before. Before traveling, I completely disconected the battery. On returning from my trip(I was away for three months),it wouldn't start from a fully charged battery. We traced the problem to a faulty fuel pump as I left the tank half full.We replaced the pump.It started and I drove it around that day. The next day however,It started and ran for two secs and died down. Its been doing that now for past six months!

Any help on this......please?
