Please help me - I have never installed a remote start before and I have been asked to describe the process for an apprenticeship assignment - panic.  If someone could provide me with a fairly detailed description of how to install a remote start - I dont even care on what vehicle.  I need to provide a diagram as well. I would be forever indebted to whomever can offer some assistance.

Is up to the installer to test all wires with a DMM whenever possible.

Here's an installation manual for a Prestige APS-750 alarm/remote start.  (5.3MB) This should provide you with enough information to get a basic understanding of what's involved in installing an alarm/remote start system. We have other manuals available in our downloads section that you can always get to from the main forum page if you are logged in. If you have specific questions regarding an installation, post them.

I would hardly say that this site is "No Help". It is like the12volt said, if you have specific questions: Post them. Also ike he said reading a manual can help too, but the best way to understand how to install a remote starter is to get down under your dash and get your hands dirty.

Is that like your trying to get a job installing alarms? Man they just threw me to the birds. I had no idea how a relay worked..
Put things like roll down windows as soon as it gets in the shop(incase you lock the keys inside)
remove panels with care in the winter (bummer when they break).
power from the battery
double check connections.
