Hey guys, I am going to be installing a remote starter on a 2001 CL. The factory alarm arms and disarms with the lock wires, which are inside the car. The remote starter is a viper 160xv, and I was wondering if I need to run the factory alarm disarm wire to the vehicles alarm disarm without unlock wire, which is in the door, and is a pain i would like to avoid if all possible.

You could send a Fact Alarm Disarm pulse to the unlock wire, that will unlock the door and turn the alarm off, and then use the purple crank output on the ribbon cable, thru a diode (the band goes toward the ribbon cale) to the lock wire.

When the RS is triggered, it unlocks the doors and turns the alarm off.  Then when it cranks the car, it will relock the doors.  The doors will only be unlocked for about 3-4 seconds
