I just had a prestige aps787 alarm/remote start put in my '07 pont g6. It has the factory alarm, but not factory remote start (although I understand the capability is built in, just not activated). I had initially thought to do the install myself, but it's been about 10 yrs since my last alarm install and I've never done a remote start install so I had local shop put it in. They used xk01 and xk06 bypass modules that I had bought and flashed with pkg7 firmware per the bypasskit website. When I arm the new alarm the factory security light on the dash comes on, when I disarm it goes off. When I remote start the car the gauges do their normal startup routine but then the security light comes on, quickly flashes off and then comes back on and stays on. I haven't noticed any issues with the vehicle running with the security light on, it's just annoying. The guys at the shop said they would do research on it, but I wanted to do some checking myself but haven't found anything. Anyone have any ideas?

I assume your talking about the passive anti-theft light?
To do a remote start you have to bypass the PATS, with these CAN dashes, it's pretty nice because the module can do it without a lot of work plus they can give you other features with fewer wires. It's possible your interface/bypass informs the computer that the PATS is bypassed. However when you put your key in, the PATS light should go out. I'd check with your bypass company.

it's been about 10 yrs since my last alarm install and I've never done a remote start install so I had local shop put it in. Fixing this issue isn't really YOUR problem. Have your 'local shop" trouble shoot the install and fix it. -------------

I'm all for giving the installers the opportunity to research the issue and by no means are they off the hook. But to tell someone NOT to look for a solution...? Hardly helpful.

Did anyone find out the solution to this problem or is it perfectly okay?
I just installed a xk01 and PKUGM2X on a '07 G6. Does the same thing.

Nope, haven't gotten an answer from anyone. Tried the bypasskit.com's website but their form to send a question in isn't working and I haven't found a phone number to call them. I've talked to a couple of other installers and they've said that it's a fairly common thing with pontiacs, no answer why tho. Oh well, seems like we have to deal with an annoying light.
