i'm installin a scytek remote start model 5100-RS, IN A 2003 ford ranger, everything works except the remote start, when i hit the remote start, the parking lights blink seven times  and nothing happens, the manual says in the diagnostic section that when the lights blink seven times that the remote start is cancelled but i can't figure why, i've rechecked all my connections and everything is fine,  anyone encounter this before

      1. Test brake input while operating remote start.

 2. Test hood input while operating remote start.

 3. Test neutral safety input (if you have one) while operating remote start.

Did you hook the small gauge ignition wire to the heavy gauge ignition wire?
Did you set it for gas mode and tach monitoring?
 Did you successfully learn tach?

I sometimes stumble on these when I haven't installed a Scytek for a while.
