I am installing an Autopage RS-1000 remote-start alarm in a 04' chevy express van and I am not shure if I need an immobilizer or passlock2 to make it all work. The van does not have a factory alarm and has a regular key. I was given an XK01 (directed Electronics) interface unit; is this the correct one? if it is, how do I wire it in?

Thanks

That is the correct unit you need. gm's use a resistance based system that is built into the lock cylinder.

Thanks for the reply,I have another question: I am looking at the XK01 on the www.expressdownload.com website and it is talking about a vehicle type numbered 1-7;I do not see the express van listed here..... How will I know if when connected, this unit actually works correctly?

The XK01 with AMDL isn't listed as the correct bypass for any year of Express Van; however if that's what you have already you can probably use it.
I would suggest programming it for vehicle type 2 since that's the closest thing to your van in regards to the way the data is communicated. If that doesn't work, try type 4.
