hi guys, I want to test a led scanner on my 12 volt dc home adapter.  Just wondering what should I do with the 3 rd wire (yellow) to see if it will trigger the led on/off???  Here is where I put the wires on the 12v dc adapter red in on the posotive , black on the negative.  So far this makes the scanner light up when I push the button on the scanner.  But what can I do with the yellow wire to see if the alarm will activate on its own, and keep the pattern?

THANX

Thanx for the e-mail.  I guess this means I can not try it at home. message sent: (home electrical wiring there is no negative or posotove ground as such.  household wiring if ac (alternating current)  It changes dirrection every 60 times a second.  IN modern household wiring there are 3 conductors, as grounded conductor (aka neutral) a ungrounded conductor(hot) and the equipment grounding conductor.  IN all cases using the adapter would mean you are dealing with alternating current.  the equipment grounding conductor (ground) is either bare or green, but not negative or posotove, but neautral.
