I got and installed my new clifford 70.5x system in my 2007 Audi A3.    to my surprise I  found that the remote on the 70.5x has weak range (about the same as the factory keyless remote)  This remote is also unresponsive, the color screen is nice but the lack of response drives me nuts.  i have to try several times to remote start, the arm and disarm keys sometimes dont respond and there is no easy way to get status without actually sending a command.

I called Directed, they admitted that they were discontinuing the 70.5x and have no upgrade or replacement policy.  they say they have a new system comming in about a year but nothing at this time nor will they offer an upgrade.

Just FYI for those of us selling or looking for such a system,   go with the 50.5x which is an LCD screen but has up to a mile range, vibrate, uses AA battery, etc...

I actually changed for a 50.5x like yours, problem gone...  it  seems the color remote on the 70.5x is made by someone else and the interfacing is not as fast as it could be hence the problems.    as it turns out they are discontinuing that model anyway.

the range on the 50.5x is much better...
