I have a compustar 2w900fm-as, not sure if that is the exact number layout on the model, but you get the idea.  I have installed this on my last vehicle no problems.

Does anybody have the wiring specs on the 2008 4Runner, the full wiring.  I found some for the 2006, but I don't know if anything has changed.  I am going to use the XK05, I heard it it tuff with short wires, but I can handle it.  Fow now I would appreciate it if you could help me out on where these wires are.

Thanks

Thanks.  I see a factory disarm.  Is there a factory arm wire?  Are you familiar with the compustar units.  I put together a wire to wire flowsheet if anybody would be willing to check before I got to town.

It will arm with a single pulse to the door locks. Also, you can get a single door trigger for all doors. It's on the right edge of the fuse box where the 3 plugs are. Center plug, purple / YELLOW...

Ok I got a XK05, seems like it will be a pain.  I read about the Fortin KEY-OVERRIDE-SL2.  But they dont' make it anymore as I am finding or it isn't in stock.  Will the KEY-OVERRIDE-ALL be just as good and as easy to install?

Thanks

Easy bypasses for Toyota will get wires from the igntion switch area only.....

So is the Fortin Key-Override-All a good bypass. I read the Key-Override-SL2 grabs from the ignition, but it is all out of stock.

I think I can handle that. Does anybody know the color of the data wires on the 2008 4runner. I looked the fortin site, it said to refer to a download that isn't available.

I looked, but it does not have the colors for the 2008, think it was only to 2002. I need the RX, TX and Keysense. Well just the RX and TX.

Thanks

Okay having some problems and I am not sure why.  Door locks don't work.  Door triggers done work.  Domelight supervision does not work.  Parking lights don't flash.  This sucks, I checked everything several times to make sure it all was working.  Only thing I can think of is that I used taps to test this out before soldering anything up.  I will have to go check all the taps to make sure they have a connection and then go from there.  Four hours and now the frustrating stuff.

For the locks, I connected the arm wire and the lock wire together.  Did I need to do this or it is a waste?

Okay... All it hooked up but a few problems.

Tach wire... getting error 3 from the brain, stating wire not right. I did the BLACK/ white at the obd port and at the ecm. Checked them both with a meter and they read 6.3 while running. Any thoughts?

Door Trigger.... i used the single trigger, not all the doors. It is not triggering... when the doors are closed i am getting 12volts, but when open I am still at .5 volts... would a diode fix that.... i figure it isn't triggering because it is still showing little voltage.

Dome supervision... i found the wire at the fuse box and metered it, it is always a constant 12v. any thoughts.

I would really appreciate some feedback. mainly on the tach wire. main feature i need to get working is the remote start.

THanks

i am installing a viper 5701 le on a 2008 toyota 4-runner with the urban runner option. i am a low voltage installer for the worlds largest gold mine so i am pretty good at this stuff but this model in complex and is stumping me on some stuff i havent got all the wires connected yet. i am having problems finding the right wire to use for the door triggers. have you figured this out yet? i am also having problems with finding the correct wire for the dome light. have you found anything out on this?

The door trigger is purple / YELLOW and is located on the side of the junction box/fuse box towards the steering colunm. There are 3 plugs there and i beleive it was the middle plug. This is the wire that feeds the door ajar light on the instrument cluster and will do all doors. If for some reason it won't trigger your alarm(i have NEVER had an issue with it) you could always feed it thru a relay to give you a stronger ground. As for DLS, go to the ring around the igntion switch.

The tach wire on Toyotas that is in the OBD2 connecter will always be a wire in a corner off by itself(no wires next to it). It's not there on all models...

Turns out the tach wire was fine. brain was buried in the dash then i plugged connectors in and the plug was looks. not i got the tach learned, but it is giviing me 7 flashes with the parking lights. normally means it isn't in reservation mode for MT's. but this is not an MT and i DID cut the jumper wire for it to be AT.

Okay, I think it may be the keysense.  I have the bypass hooked to this.  Do I need a direct connection from the compustar brain?  If so what wire.

i finally plugged everything in, and my XK05 hooked up.  I went to start it with the key. it will start but if i start it with the remote the remote gives a loud buzzing sound and the function light lights up. when i do this the cars lights flash 7 times. my doors wont lock or unlock with the remote either. i dont have the remote start activation, ground when armed, tach input, shut down input, any of the remote relay out harness hooked up. i dont know where they are suppose to be hooked up. i am also having problems with the flex relay on the H3 harness i dont know if i am suppose to have any of these hooked up. i really need help with this. thanks

will the vehicle start by the remote if you have to key in the ignition and on the off position? i bypassed the key sence with mine it works great now, but i am having problems with the lock and unlocking of the doors with can you tell me how you did this?

It will not start with the key in the switch. As for the locks, I had the wrong plug. It is not the blue 18 pin plug. It is the white plug that is almost in the door boot. Kinda hidden in the kick behind a mess of wires. I missed it at first.

So questions are still. Why is this giving me 7 flashed for "not in reservation mode" when it is set for AT.

How do you get a double pulse to unlock all doors? I an only getting the drivers door.

Okay scratch the starting thing. Got it. Kinda. Works with a key, but any key. Guessing the wire I got from the keysense from the bypass is not really the right keysense. I have to check this out. I found the wire under the column in a connector that matched the color, guess it was wrong. I will look at it tomorrow when it isn't 20 degrees out.

Still wondering about the double pulse unlock.

why it is giving you 7 flashes is because they come from the factory defaulted as a mt you have to prgram it to a at by using the valet button and the remote.

For my model I just had to cut the jumper wire.  Turns out I didn't have the parking brake on.

Still curious to the double pulse door unlock and what I would need to do.

Ok think I found the double pulse in the programming menu.

Did I even need to have the parking brake hooked up?

Ok I can't get this to start without the valet key.  I am using the GREEN/ YELLOW wire under the steering column which I beleive is the keysense.  I guess I am wrong.  Please help me.
