Hi I just signed up today because I ordered some stuff to start a project I've been wanting to do for some time. I have a 2003 Ford SVT Lightning (F150) and ever since my stepdad bought his C6 Corvette I've been very jealous of the keyless ignition setup the newer cars have these days.

So I've done some research and come to the conclusion it is feasable and could be pretty easy. I ordered a K9 Sombra RFID auto keyless entry along with 6 bosch SPDT relays and plugs just to hopefully be safe and have enough relays lol and a timer delay relay as well. Anyways I plan on using the K9 unit to auto lock and unlock the doors when I'm close via the RFID along with using that to trigger power to my 08 C6 corvette ignition button/switch (rocker type, single pulse, up for start, down for off or ACC). I figured it would be much simpler using the Corvette type switch instead of trying to use a single button for ACC and IGN and Start like the Honda S2000 has.

So when I get close to my truck the K9 unit will unlock it and trigger power to the IGN. It also has a starter kill I will hookup to the brake pedal so it will not start without my foot on the brake. I then put my foot on the brake pedal hold down the start button (I'll have the delay timer set for a few seconds) and it starts. I go wherever I need to and then hit the Off/ACC side of the rocker and it shuts off walk away and it auto locks.

Am I missing anything? How would you guys suggest wiring this up? Also how could I get the ACC side to work with the truck off, yet stay one when I start it? I could have one press for ACC on the power side and that could simplify thing I'd think since I'd have the starter on a delay.

Thanks for any help and input guys. And sorry for the long post. I'm just trying to sort things out in my head and its very difficult without having the parts laid out in front of me. I also am removing the sterring column lock so there will be no need for a key whatsoever incase anyone was thinking about that. Thanks again. -Chris

And BTW I'm not referring to remote start in any way shape or form. Viper makes those cheap but thats not what I want. I want to go completly keyless and only keep the RFID fob in my pocket and walk off without having to worry about my truck : )

Flaming river makes these keyless kits but for $600 they're out of they're mind. I've pieced my stuff together for right at $100 and they dont even have a solution for the door locks so this will be twice as good as they're $600 stuff.

I have it mostly figured out. Havent got to mess with it yet but could anyone give me any insight on what to do about the multiple ignition wires? do they both need to be hooked up? Or just the first one? Could I just tie them together and then feed power to them from the same wire?

KPierson has posted repeatedly on the subject and you should look at his posts - it's more complicated than you're stating here.

You haven't addressed how you'll deal with the steering column lock - nor how exactly that Corvette switch is going to start the car(a typical push button start setup uses a separate control module, it doesn't switch the wires directly).

Well I know its not completely simple. I've got my wiring figured out. And I know I didnt go into much detail on how I plan on doing this besides how I plan on making it work when I'm done. Its gonna take a lot of relays and headaches but I've got it figured out for the most parts without having EVERYTHING laid out in front of me at the moment. The column lock is more of a mechanical thing and not electronic so I didnt elaborate on that any. Thats the least of my concerns though. I've worked on many a car so thats good as done. Just see what you guys thought about the project and if you had any pointers. Thanks
