I took out the headliner out of my 2003 gmc yukon and there was about 25 wires running from behind the dash up to the healiner so i cut them all figuring i would just splice them all back together but when putting the headliner back in and then realised that there was multiples of the same colors. Example 3 brown w/white stripe wires.

I was wondering if anyone knows how i could figure out how to get all the wires matched back up properly so everything works? The only thing that is not working properly is all the dome lights.

Anything ideas would be greatly consider as i'm stuck on how to fix this problem.

Because they are the same color I would expect them to do the same thing. So start with your DMM and test for what conditions make them change. Doors open and doors closed should register a change for the dome lights.

Yeah, i actually went down to the chevy dealership and they told me the samething you did... that all 3 brown w/white stripe should not matter what order they are in cause they all should be the same ciruit/same color. So i have all the right colors i'm pretty sure.

Maybe it might be a bad connection? Because i bought these connectors from an autoparts store that you crimp these little prongs onto the wires and i put the wires in these connectors that way a i can just unplug if i ever had to again.
