I've installed the new Autopage RS-1000 OLED in a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus. Everything went well until I was installing the XK531. All connections went well until I got to the Violet "Data" Wire on the XK531. The violet wire is supposed to get connected to pin 2 on the OBDII connector. The problem is this vehicle's pin 2 is blank. Is there an alternate data wire I can use to finish this install? The LED on the XK531 won't go out because there is no data. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never seen one without the data wire.
Pin 2 - reading left to right - WIDE side of the connector.

Yes, I'm reading the connector right. I even unmounted it. Wide side up, left to right. Plus the pins are marked on the connector. Still nothing. I agree with you all, I too have never seen one without the data wire. I've done many Chrysler, Plymouth, and Dodge before, but never ran into an issue like this. Just for a sanity check I went to check my buddy's 2001 Plymouth Neon, and what did I find: A Pin2 data wire. I'm so confused. Here are the pins that are in the connector: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 14, and 16. So, is there an alternate data wire?

i'm thinking that they missplaced the wire into plug 3, but to verify look at your buddys connector and find the wire color on pin 2 and then look at yours,

I tried Pin 3 and it won't make the XK531 led go out either.

once the carsprogrammed the led should be on ,insert key and turn to on position and led should go off, does it

The LED won't go off, because the XK531 can't finish programming. There is no data connection, because pin 2 is missing, to finish the programming.

Pin 7 didn't work either. I just ended up using the XK531 just for transponder purposes. I ended up running external relays for the door locks, factory disarm, etc. Before I could say "I never ran across a vehicle that didn't have a data wire that was supposed to have one". Now I can. Even though there was an alternate way, I still hate the fact I wasn't able to utilize the ease of use the XK531 provides. Lesson learned: Check for data wire before starting install. Thank You ALL for all of your support.
