I will be installing a RS into a 2007 Santa Fe next week and according to the diagram, it has a transponder on it. The bypass for it says you have to have a dealer scan tool to program it in. My question is, can I use an extra programmed key and a "key in the box" to get around this?

Thanks

hey,

just use a second key and put it in a bypass like the 556UW and you should be fine. you have to sacrifice a key for that car.

The diagram is wrong.

I think it's only the Canadian model that has the transponder, but whoever's writing the diagram didn't bother to note that.

They've done this with wiring diagrams on other Hyundais for some years now. I wish they would pay a little more attention to detail.

The U.S. Santa Fe doesn't have a transponder. You won't need any other products besides your remote starter, and you won't need to sacrifice any of your spare keys.

from all the manual i've seen the chiped keys for hyundia have 2 rows of 3 tits where you hold the key

i have yet to install a remote start in a hyundia with a chipped key

i ususally recommend customers do a key in the box for this one

i can't see sending a bypass module to a dealer and then asking them to program it

i would imagine i would get a stunned look from the dealer
