Hello,

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to flash this Audiovox/Code Alarm module. I want to use it because it was designed to wotk with the Code Alarm SRT 9000 through the CAN system seamlessly.

I live in Northern Ohio (Cleveland) and there are no dealers that carry these units, or has the ability to flash it. Code Alarm customer service refuses to give me the time of day and are rude...

Buying the FLCAN is no problem - but how do I get it flashed?

Thanks!

The place you buy it from should flash it for you. I flash my own, you need an adapter from Idatalink that plugs into the module and has a USB on the other end. You simply go to thier website and download the software for flashing and your good to go. If you have a Carmax near you whoever is installing thier alarms will have the equipment to do this, it's all they use. You may also try contacting Avox as they are the makers of both Code and Idatalink.

Thank you for your help. There is no carmax close. Do you happen to know of one that will flash and sell it to me for a good price?

go to www.flash-it.com

you will need to buy a flash logic up loader, from the web site once you have it, it is east to flash

hope this helps

if that wed site is down you can flash it at www.idatalink.com

they make the modules for avox/code alarm

Thank you. However, This is just a one time deal and would not like to spend the cash for the special cable. Hence, this is the reason for my request - if someone out there can flash it for me once I pick it up...

I should change the title to Flashlogic Insanity. I can't find anyone in Ohio to sell me this unit let alone flash it... I called all of your kind referrals, Code Alarm, Audiovox, and Idatalink. I made a big mistake with Code Alarm. I probably would have had better "Customer service" from India... never again. Thank you all.

If you were close i'd do it for ya! I can't believe Idatalink can't give you the name of a shop near you that carries the product. And there aren't any Carmax's in your area???

I ordered a Idatalink cable from ebay on a gamble that it is the same as the Flashlogic (only looks different) - to flash a Audiovox Flashlogic CAN transponder bypass.

This has been a fiasco because of the lack of help, expertise and common courtesy by the Audiovox, Code Alarm, and to a lessor degree, Idatalink people. Each and every call was met by rudeness if not total disdain. Each company told me to contact the other without lifting one finger to look just a little bit deeper to help a customer out. For example, I was told by Code Alarm tech support person on one of my three calls, "this is tech support, we can't flash it for you!"

In the future I will try to choose brands that are much better
supported - if they exist.

Never again Code Alarm and Audiovox.
