After installing a Viper 5900 in a friend's 2006 F250 6.0L Diesel, I'm getting a TBC fault on the info center when using the remote start. It is only displayed for a second while the starter is cranking. The truck does have the factory trailer brake controller installed. I've read some threads where the possible cause is the wait to start time greater than 12 seconds causes this. The wait to start timer is set at 15seconds. I've installed this alarm in my own 2004 F250 and my brothers 2003 F250 but we don't have the trailer brake controllers or info center (new feature in 2005+). My question is what is the solution? Is there something else I need to feed power to?

set the accessory output on wait to start to on its in the menu i think it stupid that dei defaults it to off

Why wait to start at 15secs? If you can, set it to 4secs, or as robertsc suggests, turn it off, most diesels these days start instantly in all weathers, anyway there is a built in delay of about 3secs between ign lights and start, even when set to gas (petrol).

Your close there howie. The dei starters turn the power off to the acessory outputs when the wait to start is used. So i always turn it on as in thats how it works when you use the key,why dei does this is beyond me.

Most diesels do start easier that previously, however in colder winter temps, an instant start is not going to happen. The wait to start light sometimes stays lit for about 8+ seconds. The engine wasn't designed to be started in these conditions. I'm trying to get ahold of a bitwriter to adjust the time down but for now it's 15 seconds or none. I had him set the ACC to on, but now it's wanting to start. Gunna go over the tach settings again. ------------- -=riggz

set wait to start delay to 10 seconds which is good enough for just about any conditions and i would just turn engine checking off and set the crank time to 2-3 seconds and you should never have any problems with that

I agree with soundnsecurity, had a Focus diesel some years ago, set it as gas, never had any problems, it goes down to about 28f here about once a year, the crank setting should give the transponder by-pass time to work.
