i just did a remote start on an 08 using an AutoPage rs and DEI 1701G module. i had to use a relay and add a couple resistors. it seemed to work just fine, now the next day it will not start. it cycles like it should but never cranks. everything else works fine, door locks etc, starts with the key no problem there. HELP!! im stuck. i used the wiring diagram from this website and followed it. what am i doing wrong??

My first thought is the resister value on the starter wire is incorrect....

Wattage is unimportant in this application. The Ohm value is what you need correct, which is 1280....

Sorry, forgot you are using a 1701G and the directions it comes with, they call for 9.6 on the start and 6.3 on the accessory. Avox has another method using just one resistor at 1280.

If you are not using the correct value(say you are off 10% or more) it will do what you describe. The 1/4 resistors are fine...

if you dont have expirience with resistors and relays, you can hook up the remote start with a universal key in a box type immobilizer bypass.  if you dont wire up the resistors, the bcm will store trouble codes, but the truck will start and run just fine.  no check engine light will pop up either.  its not recommended for the pros to do because of future disputes with the trucks mechanic, and therefore the trucks owner, but it wont hurt anything
