I've got this high pitched siren I want to use in my project 84 Cutlass. It comes from a 2004 Mercedes SL500, factory alarm system. It has 3 wires coming from it, brown, RED / yellow, black yellow. I've tried every wire combo to to get a sound out of it and got nothing. A friend told me I need to knoe the polarity. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Brown is ground, RED / yellow is 12v+, black yellow is the trigger, try grounding the black yellow, then pos, unfortunately it might be a data lead thus you are stuffed, therefore chuck it.

You may want to try driving one of the pins with a frequency - thats how the Honda piezos are.

Ok. Grounding the BLACK / YELLOW didnt work. How do I drive the pin with a frequency? I believe there is an internal battery, it has Ni-Mih(I think thats is) on the back.
