I am trying to get the locks to work properly w a universal 6 wire central lock alarm. The 6 wire colors on the alarm are wh, wh/blk, or,or/blk, yel, yel/blk. I am connecting them to the explorer pink/yel, pink/green wires.
Currently the alarms orange wires are grounded, the wh, wh/blk are to the pink explores wires, and the yel not used. The locks work with the alarm, but not via the door switch.
When hooked up this way I also get, intermittent battery drain, and temp/direction display not working.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Mike

You gotta give more info. I have never seen lock wires that color, who makes the locks?

The Alarm is a "Aftermarket Generation" brand. I rewired it and the only problem I have now is that the doors wont lock/unlock via the door button. The alarm will lock/unlock the doors tho. Guess I will live with it unless anyone has some insight on this. Diodes?

6 wires is confusing. Your unit has relay driven lock wires, 2 commons, 2 N.C. and 2 N.O. You have to ascertain what kind of lock is on your vehicle and wire accordingly. RTFM This will tell you what those colours are. You won't need diodes with relay driven lock outputs.
