Can anyone tell me how to install an AV4 into my 99 UK spec Impreza turbo.

I am an electrician by trade so I should manage it with the right instructions I hope!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jim ?? Anyway......... the installation should take abuot 4 hours roughly and then trouble shooting afterwards ( if any ). This vehicle has caused alot of grief for installers so you may take some trial and error with the wires and locations. Good luck.

Hey Jeff,

What about the windows, wipers, lights etc which can all be operated from the avant garde? Also would I need to install a drivers door lock motor cause Im not sure there is 1 in my car. Would a second hand passenger motor work from a scrapped model?

Does the Sub have power door locks now ? If it does, it's got a single wire system that you need to use 2 relays to interface with. The windows you will need a power window control module and the wipers ( ??? )........ do you really want them on the remote control to control them ?? The parking  lights will automatically go on when you activate the AV$. Is this a remote starter unit or an alarm ?

I think he's talking about an AvantGuard 4. Figure 15+ hours for someone who has never installed an alarm. Not an easy job for a newbie. Being an electrician won't help much.
