Hey all,

This is a very noob question but please forgive my ignorance as I am not too educated on the subject of remote starts. First of all this is on a 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE.

I am looking at purchasing the following 2 way alarm/remote starter combo from Ebay [its what I can afford]. Anyway what confuses me is that the ad makes it seem like everything I need to install the remote starter is included.

LINK: https:////NEW-Long-Range-FM-LCD-2-Way-Car-Alarm-w-Remote-Start_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1308QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem230304195219QQitemZ230304195219QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

The problem is though that a friend of mine is saying I need a "REMOTE START MODULE". I'm lost as to what that is and am wondering if I need that since the alarm supposedly has a remote starter feature?

Below is a picture of what's included in the box. I am under the impression that all I would need to buy to get the remote starter working is the bypass module for the immobilizer.

your key has a chip in it. you need a bypass module to enable remote start. without you key in/near the ignition switch, the car won't start. the bypass modules are always separate of the remote start unit

This unit has both alarm and Remote Start functions.
However your Nissan has a key based immobilizer.
You will need a bypass for it.

Thank you both for your responses. As I suspected, the only module I need is for the immobilizer. My friend is confused and I'm going to make sure I rub it in his face LOL.
