I was wondering if anyone has some info pertaining to a Avistart 4000 manufactured in 1999.  Looking for a replacement remote.  Called Avital said to buy 473L. Did that but won't program.  After calling Avital four times finally was told my 4000 unit is not the same as newer 4000's that have valet switch push button.  My unit has a toggle switch.  My question is should i buy newer 4000 remanufactured unit on ebay and swap out, would connections be the same.  Original remote is oval 4 button. Looks like the newer Avistart comes with 473L remote. Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Trying to do least expensive option as possible.

Thanks, Mario

Systems are totally different. I had an old 6501 from the same time. Nice units. You are going to have a really hard time finding a compatible remote. I may have one in my garage....I'll check later and let you know. Do you have a picture of an existing remote, or did you lose it?

JWORM, thanks for the reply.  I still have the remote. FCC#I5m5647 on back.  Will try to get picture for you.  If you find remote I would be interested in purchasing.

Thanks, Mario

I found the remote. It has no battery. I think I removed it a couple years ago so it wouldn't corrode. I'll find a battery and let you know if it works. FCC ID is I5M5659-4. I think it will work, although the labels on the button may not match exactly. Starting up top and going clockwise it goes: ARM/DISARM, TRUNK, START, SILENT. The casing is also an alligator skin color which looks good. A mixture of black and green.

JWorm I appreciate your time and effort.  If board is the same and unit works I'm interested. Board has TH-82-D SAW 433 on it.

Thanks, Mario

My remote does have the same board. I found a battery, and all 4 buttons appear to function. I'll send you a private message.
