Most of you are going to say just go out and buy one but from the pictures I have seen, it doesn't look that hard.

I searched the forum on the topic and found this thread with people saying they made their own but didn't really go into much detail.

My understanding is 1 loop of copper wire around the transponder ring on the ignition and at the other end of the wire, another loop around the key. I gathered from the thread to leave about 3/32" of space between the key and the wire.

The part that confuses me is about wiring in the relay and getting the whole thing to function like the ones I could buy.

Any help is appreciated. Slow economy=more creative ways to get things done without spending money.

ive done it before, and you need way more than 1 loop. more like 10-15 loops. the more loops you can get the better so use small gauge wire.

Sorry that was a typo. What I meant to say was "ring" instead of "loop". I realize I need to have several loops.

So how exactly do I wire in the relay part of it and tie it into the remote start unit?

WOW Thank you VERY VERY much for the diagram. I definitely understand how to wire it up now. I will give it a try this week and update the thread.

Thumbs up!
