how long before it burns out? or does it burn instantly when you insert it? or when you remote start does it pop instantly?

not instantly, about two or three seconds into the remote start sequence it pops.

I wonder if 20a is just not enough fuse to pull through for the circuits in the vehicle. it probably pops right when the starter is about to crank doesnt it?

exactly whats happening. but its a 25 amp  (at the battery) it blew and I didnt want to go higher to burn anything up. I hooked it up without the fuse and it blew the first 20 amp in the remote start relay. im stumped

What does the start wire meter when the ignition switch is in the off position? does it rest at ground with the lock cylinder not turned i wonder?

If you completly disconnect the start wire from the ignition harness does it still do it? if so either the start wire from the r/s unit is shorted, or the unit is bad and shorted internally

Found out that it is doing it when the pink/white (ign2/access 2) comes on. blows it right away. if i leave the key in the ignition state and ground the purple on the ribbon, it starts right up. Changed units, i guess i need to get a new satilite relay.
