The alarm has been in for a few days and I still can't get it to remote start. With the Key in the ign(not turned) it will remote start fine so I'm guessing it has to do with the XK04. Is there a trick to this thing, I have tried it a bunch of different ways but it won't work. After each attemp I reset it by pulling the harness and reinserting it with the button pressed. I have tried reverseing the RX(gray/orange) and TX(WHITE/ lt green), I have added that relay on the TX, and I tried removing the brown wire while programing but nothing works. Any ideas? The GM I did a few weeks ago sure was alot easier that this ford.

If you can RS with the key in the ignition then you are on the right track by troubleshooting the bypass.
As the manual says, do not let more than 5 seconds pass between steps. Turn the first key to run position, wait for light to go off, turn second key to run position, wait for light to go off, remove key, remote start car. Fords have never given me a problem, Chrysler's on the other hand are a totally different story.

Thanks for the reply. That is the way I tried it many times. Any other ideas? I'll make sure I stay away from Chrysler's haha

I would suggest reflashing the XK to ensure the software is working properly. I guess it is possible the bypass is bad, although I have never come across an XK04 that was bad. The add-on relay fix is quite annoying to me, I did a few that came back later to see that the manual had been updated after I installed them. If you are going to try another module, I recommend the PKF3, it has proven bullet-proof to me.

Your right it is the bypass, but there is nothing wrong with it. This is a very common problem, inside the package for the xk04 it comes with a wiring diagram, its an outdated one. First off reflash the unit, when you do so it wil give you the newest schematics, like twelvoltz said you have to add the relay. Ive never had an issue once the relay is added. For some reason the xk04 will seem to "lose" programming. Once you reprogram it the unit will work but after a few times it will "lose" programming agian. All in all add the relay and you'll be golden. ------------- Advanced MECP
