looking for the mux wire. See a PURPLE / orange wire and a solid purple wire, however every chart i look at is a PURPLE / tan or brown. Also is it necessary to cut this mux wire to install the relay (considering the accessory drops out during remote start)

It is definitely a PURPLE / brown wire...hold your light right up to the wire to look for the stripe.

If you are using a bypass like the PKUCH2X, you do not have to cut the wire. Just keep in mind that when running on RS, when you turn the key to the run position the accessories will drop out until you hit the brake to shut off the RS. This is because the R value changes when you turn the key to the run position. If using relays/resistors to interface the MUX then you need to cut the wire because it functions as both the accessory and second start wire.

thanks twelvoltz. I guess i better get the bypass for this. Ive seen many diagrams that conflict about whether to cut it or not. I was going to cut it and run

87    Ground with 610 resistor
87a Key side of PURPLE / brown
30    car side or PURPLE / brown

85   12 volts
86    (-) accessory on small harness of R/S

87 Ground with 180 resistor
87a nothing
30 to PURPLE / brown after the relay

85 12 volts
86   (-) small starter wire of small harness of R/S

any issues?

What do you plan on using to bypass the transponder? Since you need a module anyway I just suggest getting the one that does it all in one box...makes for a much cleaner install.

get the idatalink bypass for the chrysler's. expensive but you dont have to mess with the mux wire
