Hi guys, any feedback on the simplest remote car starter with T wiring harness, to install in a 1998 Nissan Sentra? It doesn't have any remotes for door locks, alarms, etc. (it has power locks and windows) Just want something decent, with parking lights illuminated when car starts. Who has the best unit to install, as I plan on doing the install myself. I have quite a bit of experience installing stereo systems, HU's, amps, subs, spkrs, in cars. This may be a bit more involved, but as long as I have the correct wiring diagram, and a good Fluke Multi-meter, I think I can do it. Any ideas on what unit to buy, don't need all the bells and whisles. Please inform me of the relays I will need for this install also. Hope someone can help me on this.

Bulldog makes a T-Harness for your car but it only assists with the remote start portion of the installation and IMO it is not worth the money. The 98 Sentra is a simple install, the only 'extra' it requires is a relay for the second starter wire. Door locks are negative trigger, and their is no transponder to bypass, which means you should be fine with any system you choose. My preference would be a system made by DEI...Viper, Python, Avital, Sidewinder, etc. The downside is that DEI, like most manufacturers do not warranty self-installed product sales. This just means that you should make sure the retailer selling you the product will warranty it for you.

Thanks, most of them do come with a wiring harness of some sort, don't they, or do I have to make all the splices myself? Other than the 2 starter wires, will I need any other relays? Some of these kits come with a built in relay for this I think, is that correct?

if it's dei, as far as i know, you'll have to make all the splices yourself, and add on that extra relay for the starter, but as the 12 voltz said it's a simple install, trust me i've done these cars by the thousands, literally, they are my choicest vehicles to work on. post back if u need help with the install. ------------- COMMIT YOUR WAY TO JEHOVAH AND HE WILL ACT IN YOUR BEHALF.
