Had you programmed the tach before you attempted to remote-start the first time ?

I would do a system reset. Then of course, you need to reprogram the remotes again. Without tach wire connected, try remote start and see what happens

unhooked tack wire reset remote start module and programmed remotes and pressed start button and envoy starts fine every time without a tack wire learned or hooked up. why ?

Why? b/c it is in tachless mode. autostart called it VTS. It is automatic and there is no tach to learn, it just monitors the engine starting sequence & release the starter at the right time after the engine is started. This test is just to prove that there wasn't anything wrong with the module. Your original problem was the tach which probably not hooked up to the right tach wire in the vehicle. Where did you hook up the tach wire to ? For your case I still suggest you connect the tach wire, tachless mode can be a problem during very cold weather.

your starter likely has a tachless setting...,. this vehicle has factory anti-grind so i always program for voltage sense-long crank anyway....

Are the 2008s different than earlier years. Ive done plenty of 04-06 Trailblazer/Envoys but had someone asking about an 08?

i'm working on a 2008 chev trailblazer for remote start. everything works fine except the theft light stays on until i put the key close to the ign cylinder. the key has a chip in it. it says pk3. does anyone know of a bypass for transponder on a 2008 chev trailblazer?
------------- nice...
