Hi, I just finished a lot of wiring, and seem to have all the wires hooked up the way they are supposed to. I hooked up all the harnesses and hooked up the one with the power wires last. From previous installs I am used to hearing a couple relays click when the unit is first powered up. This one may be different though, becasue I didnt hear that on this one.

I am trying to initialize the remote with the unit because it didnt work out of the box. It says to turn the key off to on 3 times leaving it on on the 3rd one, then click the valet button 3 times holding it down on the 3rd until the horn beeps a long one and the led flashes. My problem is I dont seem to have an led to attach to it after all my wiring, and I chose not to use the horn because I like the parking lights only. Instead I just waitted around 10 second and then held down the button on the remote. This still doesnt work though. I cant get the remote to work.

Does anyone know if I need the horn and the led wired in order for this unit to function? I know its powered because when I turn the car off all the locks unlock. Also when I pull the parking brake up I hear a relay click in the unit.

I have this wired for a manual install in a 2001 civic. This seems specific to the unit though.

Thanks for any help with this Deluxe 500 unit.

- Kyle

Update:   The relay I heard clicking is the relay I installed with the parking brake, not coming from the unit itself. (I should've realized that)

Also, I hooked up the oil pressure sensor wire instead of the tach so I didn't have to run a wire through the firewall. I dont know if this is because I don't have the unit programmed for it yet, but when I start the car the oil light is on. Apparently I have the correct wire though.

And the locks lock when I start to drive the car, and unlock when the car is shut off.

Still no luck programming this remote though. Any help would be great. Haven't got a response from Bulldog yet.
