I bought a commando ke30 keyless entry system. Can anybody tell me if this '97 silverado came with keyless entry from the factory?  If it didn't, then I guess i have to install relays for the commando to operate the lock/unlock feature. i'm i correct?

Get your multimeter out and test the wires..... simple!

It's either rev. polarity, or pos. pulse.....either way you need relays!

They kind of meter the same way though, both will show 12V when the switch is pressed.

I would suggest popping the driver's side power lock switch up and disconnecting it. Then operate the passenger side switch. If the passenger side still works, it's positive pulse. If it doesn't work, it's reverse polarity.
