there will be a SRS badge or even AIRBAG logo. you must pop that logo outwards and remove the philips or oon most jap cars a 10mm bolt. the wire should never be bunched up, wrapped or rolled. Always run it from the unit with all the extra slack, and then run the extra slack up and down the A pillar. it prevents signal loss

I did an '08 Accord which was a pain like you described. The trim piece has one godawful clip holding it in place that seems like it was designed not to be removed intact. It's definitely changed from the '03-'07 Accords/'04-'08 TLs with the clip like tedmond describes(BTW welcome back tedmond - you're posting again I see!)

Basically what I would suggest is leaving the A-pillar trim in place, running the antenna cable underneath the airbag through to the windshield side of the trim piece, and then working it back and forth up to the headliner.

WARNING WARNING WARNING
The following information is intended for professionals only. Do NOT read further unless you thoroughly understand airbag operation, general vehicle assembly/disassembly, 12 volt electrical system operation, damage avoidance during installs, vehicle terminology, and remote start/alarm installation.
Remember also that paying a shop $100 for an install is many, many times cheaper than replacing an airbag (the shops have insurance to cover that) and completely inconsequential when compared with the medical costs/loss of life that happen when a curtain airbag doesn't deploy properly in an accident.

That said:
If you remember 2 things you'll be allright

1. Side curtain airbags deploy downward, basically right through the line where the weatherstripping meets the headliner. Wires on the upward side of the airbag will not interfere with it.

2. The electrical connector/gas charge cylinder for curtain bags is located in the C-pillar. Probably the only way you'll damage the bag at the A-pillar is if you puncture it or rip it away from its mounting points. This is avoidable if you don't use sharp things to run the antenna cable behind the airbag and don't pry hard anywhere.

With the antenna side of the cable taped to a zip tie, pull the A-pillar trim out enough to slide the zip tie between the metal frame and the bag itself. Pull the zip tie out when it gets to the windshield, and bring the cable through to that side.

Once that's done you may be able to work the cable all the way to the top of the A-pillar and under the headliner. If you can't, you'll just have to shove it behind the headliner on the windshield side as well as possible.
