First off I want to see I am somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to cars and electronics but this one has me stumped beyond anything!!
I recently purchased a used one owner 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Gorgeous car all stock no modifications. Atleast thats what I thought until I stumbled on some 4 wire harness under the rear seat area. Here is what I found.

I traced this 4 wire harness that lead into the guts of the rear vertical seat back. I was able to access the inside of the seat back by removing the center fold down arm rest. I then found a couple relays one saying directed electronics, the other is some larger relay looking thing that says Porter and Brumfield. Along with those relays was a window motor that was mounted to what looks like nothing. Yes you heard that right a window motor wth?!? There were two wires going into the motor. All of this goes to the 4 wire harness which I followed towards the front of the car and under thr drivers seat. A couple of the wires were tapped into a large harness under the seat, then the remaining two wires went to a push switch (not a toggle switch) that was mounted completely hidden inside the seat cushion that was obviously mounted so no one could ever find.
Thats about all I know unfortunately I already started ripping stuff out from the back seat before I knew about this swith in the front seat. So I guess had I know I could have pushed this button and see what happens lol. I am completely at loss here any input is greatly appreciated. Here are two pics of the stuff I pulled out. The window motor and two relays were inside the rear seat back, that tiny push switch was mounted and hidden inside the drivers seat. These wires were tapped into a harness under the drivers seat.
Thanks,
James

you say it was mounted to nothing? it doesnt make the seat back fold down and up? the relays are to work the motor, so........just to find out, you could mount the motor back up with just the 2 wires coming out of it and leave them so that you can hook 12v up to them. connect one of the wires to 12v and the other to ground and see what happens, if nothing switch the 2 wires and then see what happens. if still nothing, then i have no clue sorry.

Well the motor was mounted inside the seat back however as you see in the picture the plastic gearing straps are exactly how they were in the car just left as a loop.

I had a Supra i bought used once that i found a actuator over the glovebox. Turns out the AC vents slid out to reveal a spot for a 9 to fit. could be something along that lines...

Well the thing is the window motor and relays are inside of the rear seat back. So something with a gun doesn't seem useful back there. The switch that was mounted hidden inside the FRONT seat is simply a push button not a toggle. So I don't see how that could be used to make the window motor go one way then go back the other way.
I also thought of the possibility of it being a remote nitrous bottle opener but there are no signs of nitrous on this car. No holes in the car for lines to be fed. There has never been any aftermarket audio equipment. Ugh this is gonna drive me nuts. What in the world could have this done?

Well after thinking about it and how everything was mounted and the hardware that remained in the seat back im thinking that window motor somehow was used to raise and lower the center armrest piece (including the rear cover panel that normally does not fold down with the armrest). Could have very well been a hidden compartment for a gun (or drugs I supposed). I sat in the driver seat and when that armrest is down it is pretty easily reachable by the driver. I cant think of anything else??!?!
