Either of two things:

1. If you've used voltage sense, it tends not to work well on late model GMs, at least the ones I've done. Running a tach wire is best.

2. An RF based bypass with an antenna that's just a little bit off in its placement around the key cylinder.

When you say "starts more than once" do you mean that on the first try:
a. The lights flash, ignition comes on, and then shuts off without attempting to crank

b. Same as a, except it cranks, starts, and shuts off within 2 seconds

c. Starts and runs for 30 seconds to a minute and then shuts down?

would       1701g1       be the best bypass to use

Here's the info on here for the '07 Malibu. I'm pretty sure that the BCM and all the relevant wiring are the same as the G6.

I'm never personally used a 1701G on a G6/Malibu/Aura, just on the pickups. I've used usually the XK06 with PKG7, or the PKU-GM2X.

It definitely sounds like a problem with the immobilizer not being bypassed properly. Given that it seems to be intermittent I would suspect either:

1. There is a loose connection or a slight mislocation on the 556U's antenna ring.

2. If you're using the same "ignition 3"/"ground-when-running" wire from your remote start and connecting it to both the 556U's and the 1701G's "remote start" inputs, it may not have enough current to activate both modules consistently.

If this is the case you can either use a separate GWR output if your remote start has one, or use the single GWR to activate a relay ground for the 2 bypasses.

I did one 3 days ago.  Xk 06 will save your life on this vehicle, when i first pulled up directechs i died alittle inside but i finished it in less than 3 hrs for viper 5701, trunk pop, and backup battery.   Did you use tech doc 1601?  If you use the xk06 you can save time because that doc isnt needed plus its cheaper than using 2 mods and the custy doesnt have to lose a key.
