you sure u got the correct wire, dunno if ur unit can program to voltage, if it can then you can try it, if it still grinds then you may have mixed up ur starter wire with an ign wire. just a thought

Is it possible grinding because tach hasn't been recognised?

if it still remote starts and grinds also, and you disconnected the start wire from the unit, you possibly have an ignition wire from the unit hooked up to the start wire in the ignition harness. also, describe how you converted your polarity. did you use relays? if so how are they wired? there may be a problem there as well.

I ran into the same problem on a 99 range rover. try this:cut the factory ignition wire and install a diode in line with the band facing the keyswitch side. connect your remote start wire after the diode and that should solve it.

what's the reason for that, and how does it relate to the starter grindiing, and you split the ignition line and placed a diode, what can i say you learn someting new everyday. ------------- COMMIT YOUR WAY TO JEHOVAH AND HE WILL ACT IN YOUR BEHALF.

all these suggestions don't even mention the tach programming. I know it's obvious but have you checked that? is your tach wire even hooked up? or are you using voltage sense?

he said he had the tach wire hooked originally, but even if that were the case, y is it still grinding when he removed the starter wire hooked up to the unit. hmmmmmmm
