Hey all,
Just put a Viper 5101 Remote Start with a XK01 By-Pass Module in my 05 Silverado. Remote Start works fine, door lock works fine, window roll-up works fine, but when I hit un-lock the doors un-lock ok, but the DTR lamps and reverse lamps come on. I can't seem to figure out why this happens Does any one have any clue why this happens?
Thanks in advance.

To illuminate the ground so you can see to walk up to the vehicle.

This happens with the factory remotes too. I know on the Tahoe you can turn this feature on/off in the information center located on the instrument cluster. It's in the factory owners manual how to do it....

The DTR lamps and reverse light will not come on if the truck has been remote started, only if its not running and I unlock with the remote. So I'm assuming the XK01 turns these lights on through the Data line? The other thing I just noticed is, if I unlock the truck with the key and start it with the key, The status LED continues to flash and will only shut off if I unlock the doors with the remote. I used the D2D connection from the XK01 to the 5101, if that helps.

Good to know. Thanks. My truck didn't come with factory remotes so I never experienced that.
