I'm trying to install a remote start/alarm combo in my 1999 Cavalier (2.4L, 4 spd auto) and I'm having troubles with the start feature. When I bought the car it had an Autostart command starter in it already, with a PL 2004 bypass. I had to swap engines when I bought it but the remote start worked after I got the motor running. Suddenly the remote stopped working in the Autostart so I got a 2-way remote starter off ebay with a power doorlock kit. I've got everything in it and working except the starter.

When I try to start it with the remote it turns on the acc and the ignition to the on position, the fan starts blowing and you can hear the fuel pump running, but it doesn't crank. I'm not sure if this is a passlock issue or not, but does anyone have the wiring/installation instructions for this module (PL 2004 Passlock I - II - ION Bypass GM - Saturn VR: 1.2 MD: 1103)? I'd just like to verify everything is wired the right way. There are a few wires that weren't used that maybe I'm supposed to be using, I'm not sure, but if anyone has these instructions that would be great, I've searched for hours on the net and can't find anything.

Thanks in advance.

is there voltage on the crank wire? is the car automatic? does the car remote start with a key in the ignition?

it may also be possible that since the old starter suddenly stopped working that a hood pin may be corroded and causing trouble
