Any suggestions on a good bypass and remote combination for a 2002 Silverado?   I have looked at many of the bypass modules but some of the data seems incomplete.  On the 2002 models, it looks like the only function you can get from the bypass module it to bypass the passlock through the OBDII port?   The 2003 model year and up seem to have all the convenience functions available through the bypass modules.

Also which bypass modules and remote start brands have compatible datalink communications?

Thanks

2003 and up only have features like locks/window roll-up, etc. because those are controlled by data signals from the door modules on the newer model trucks.

'02 and down have conventional, (+) switched door locking.

I have installed a remote start on my 2005 Silverado, but I used a GMSL2 bypass and door lock/unlock etc. is controlled throught the vehicle data bus.   Since the 2002 is different, I assume most of the outputs wired from the remote start module to the BCM are +12 volt signals?   I would appreaciate input from anyone who has put a remote start on this model truck.   Thanks.

I've done an 02. It's actually harder than 03+ trucks. The module cuts out some of the work on the newer trucks. 02 and earlier, you can bypass the passlock with a module tru the databus wire, but thats all you can control with the databus. The doorlocks, door triggers, can all be found at the BCM under the dash by the steering column. You have to find your door trigger wires and diode isolate them so you can tie them all together into one trigger wire. The doorlocks are pretty easy, two wires to tie into at the BCM, its a positive pulse doorlock system. If your unit is capable of outputting a positive pulse for the doorlocks, then you should be able to tie directly to the lock wires in the truck, no relays or anything is needed. I lot of other stuff like all your starter and ign wires, should be similar to an 05.
