Hello all
I just bought a 94 accord with a key less entry system. I was told the the battery's in the remotes where dead, so i replaced them (23a Battery) but it made no difference. The remotes i have a red led that should light up when you press a button but it never lights up on ether remote. now i did some looking for replacement remotes and found them to be a bit pricey ($50 a piece) for a little more than 1 remote i can get a whole new system. Right now i'm just looking for some advice.

Thank you
Tom

When you press the buttons on the remote, do they make a distinct click, or is it possible that the back of the buttons contain a carbon patch that makes contact with the traces on the circuit board? If there is no click, take the remote apart and remove the circuit board. Notice if the back of the button and the top of the circuit board are clean and free of any Oily residue. If not place the rubber membrane in a cup of warm water. Warm not hot. Using some rubbing alcohol and q-tips, remove the film from the contacts on the circuit board. Dry the membrane and reassemble. Also check the solder joints where the battery contacts meet the circuit board.
