Hi all,

I'm installing the remote starter for an 05 Toyota High Lander and I can't find the wire for Parking Light and also, door lock/unlock.

The wiring guide said the parking light wire is at the fuse panel on driver side and it's a "white to brown" wire.

it also said the lock and unlock wire located at BECU (Body ECU) the module on the left side and the 2nd connect from top, lock wire is purple and unlock is blue.

The pic below is for the lock/ unlock wire, I point to the wire location with a yellow alligator clip.

Thank you for all inputs,

The parking lights (+) is also in the drivers kick panel, 20-pin plug, pin 8.

What remote start unit are you using? If you have a (-) output, you can use purple of headlight switch.

Lock & unlock wires can be found at the other module. It's the 2nd one in from left, not the far left unit.

lock = purple of 2nd plug down from top, pin 8

unlock = lt. blue of 2nd plug down from top, pin 13

Thank you for your response,

What color is the parking light wire ? is it the brown wire I shown in the picture ?

Unlock/ lock wire, the 2nd module is it the ECM ? that's the  module I got the Tach wire.

I found a not from other wiring instruction, the Lock/ Unlock wire has to go with the Door Lock Detection Wire", is this true ?

By the way, I used the AutoPage RS 622 remote starter.

The positive parking light is listed as white to brown. You need to use a multi-meter to see if that brown wire gets 12+ when you turn on the parking lights. If it does, that's your wire.

You can't ever rely on colors you see here or on a facts sheet. You need to test every single wire to be absolutely sure.

The 2nd module in from the left is the BECU. This is where you will find the lock/unlock wires. And yes, you have to also use the brown (lock detection wire) & build a small circuit.

I don't know if you have the diagram to build the circuit, so here it is.

Thanks a lot,

You gave me a lot improtant details and this is a strange case for lock and unlock wire since it required lock detection wire in order to lock the car.

I installed remote starter for camry and Acura, they are simply lock and unlock wire w/o lock detection.

I still have to figure out why it wouldn't remote start the car when I pressed the start botton on the remote. Further suggestion would be appreciated.

You're welcome. Some cars are easier than others. Some are very challenging. We take the good & the bad.

Thank God this site is here to help us when we run into a roadblock.
