Ok so I've been lurking around and reading all the post I could find on installing this alarm on my silverado. So I installed it and now I have some issues that arn't covered.
The truck is the stripped down no frills model. I added power door locks thats it. Now I did not hook up the remote start, not intrested in it. Now for the problem. The alarm arms and locks doors which is good, if I open the doors the alarm goes off. Now after I shut the alarm off and rearm it when I disarm the alarm the doors unlock and I get a shock sensor and door sensor alert on the remote. Neither of which have been triggered. Do any of you very knowlegable gentlemen have any ideas what I missed. Also I need to find out where to hook the parking light out put to.
Thanks alot
Bryon
you are getting those because you did indeed trigger them from when you opened the door. the unit will still show that until you turn on the ignition and reset the unit and clear the last triggered zones. did you turn the ignition on each time and then relock it then unlock it again? if not try that.
the park light wire is at the BCM in a light blue plug, it is brown and positive trigger.
Ok, I changed the programing from instant door ajar to a 45 second delay. I was getting the door warning because the alarm was arming when the dome light was on. And the shock sensor was getting tripped because of the relay that turns the dome light actually clicks stong enough to trip off the shock sensor. So with this change everything is working good.
Thanks ckeeler for the parking light info.
Also, you may need to hook up the ign wire on the alarm. You said you didn't hook up the remote start part of the alarm, but did you at least hook up the ign wire? The alarm will also sense thru this wire when you turn your truck on with the key. Each time you turn on the key it resets the unit and all zones that were triggered.
not only that, but without the unit seeing the ignition wire, there is no way to program anything in the menus or the transmitters.
Yes I did hook up the ignition wire and the constant 12v wire on the remote start harness just not any other wires. But after I changed to the 45 second all problems cleared up. Thanks for the reponses -ckeeler- and -CutDog504- Hopfully some day I will be able to help someone out like you guys helped me.

No problem, thats what we're all here for buddy.
