My BF had a remote starter/ alarm put on his car, the same day when he drove it, it went dead while driving, he ran his battery down trying to re-start it, when i gave him a jump-off it started right up, so we figured the battery was week and we replaced it with a titanium. Well, that still did not fix it because it has still died several times, he has most problems in the morning before work, yesterday morning it died on his way to work and when i made it there to jump start him it started on it's own, When he got off work he checked all connections and grounds and found no problems. this morning he could not pull out of the drive way because it dies continuously. This only started to happen after the remote start was installed, what could be the problem?

1.) Did it happen the same day the remote start was installed? 2.) Who installed the remote start(shop or boyfriend)? 3.) Did the car have any problems prior to the installation or any work done?

what connections exactly did you check? it sounds like and ignition wire has pulled apart, or you have a bad ignition switch. does it start and run fine when remote started? does it only do this when using the key?

A friend that owns a shop installed it, he came out and disconnected it, to see if it continues, but he only disconnected the hot wire, all the stuff he spliced into is still spliced. after he disconnected the power to the alarm the horn would blow everytime i hit the lock/unlock switch for the doors. (that was the day before yesterday. After he unhooked it, he was on his way out of town. but this morning i had the same issues, I had the battery and alternator checked, they turned out good. The only prolem i had before the install was the check engine light was on but no symptoms, no-one can check it for me because it is a 95. I want to buy my own scanner but i want it to read obd1 and obd 2 (any recommendations on this?) I was looking at the autoxray 2500. Anyway even though the engine light was on weeks before, i did not have any problems until right after the install. thanks

it sounds just like there is an ignition wire that is pulling apart and killing the engine. you should check those out. they should have been soldered to prevent that from happening.

I pulled 2 codes on my car
16 low res pulse circuit failure
34 maf/map sensor too low
what do they mean?

I am only guessing that the MAF/MAP = Mass Air Flow/Mass Air Position. If you have a K&N filter on the vehicle, you put too much oil on the filter when cleaning, the oil has gummed up the sensors.
